No. 25 Oregon State Beavers vs Boise State, San José State and UC Davis
Date: Feb. 6, 2026
Time: 6 p.m. PT / 7 p.m. MT
Location: ExtraMile Arena – Boise, Idaho
Watch: Mountain West Network
MANY MEETINGS:
Oregon State gymnastics is quite familiar with each of its three opponents this weekend, competing against the trio a combined 85 times and posting an impressive 82-3 record. Broken down by team, OSU has competed most against host Boise State, with 47 total matchups and a 45-2 record that includes a spotless 5-0 during meets in Boise. Against San José State, that record is 24-1 and 7-0 in neutral site competitions, while the Beavs are 13-0 overall and 7-0 in neutral site competitions against UC Davis.
BETTER BEAM:
OSU's beam lineup had a strong showing in Tuscaloosa last weekend, putting up a team-leading 49.100 rotation score that featured four 9.825 or better scores. A lineup that has remained near identical for the entire season - the lone difference coming when Sophia Kaloudis competed instead of Kaylee Cheek against Sacramento State - the Beaver beam enters Friday's quad meet ranked No. 18 nationally with a 49.025 average rotation score.
BIGGEST STAGE:
Kaylee Cheek made her first trip to SEC country last weekend and showed well. A freshman from Spanish Fork, Utah, Cheek earned a pair of 9.850s on the uneven bars and balance beam. Though she didn't win the event title, Cheek's bars score led the team, which was her first time holding sole possession of the Beavers' top score on an event in a meet this season; she has tied for the team-high mark twice, once during the Best of the West Quad (beam - 9.850) and with her beam score in Tuscaloosa.
HITTERS:
Through five meets this season, there are several athletes who have stood out for their consistency in the Oregon State lineups. In fact, there are nine different athletes who have posted a perfect hit rate this season on five or more routines, and there are three OSU student-athletes with at least 10 routines and a perfect hit rate: Sophia Esposito (18-18), Savannah Miller (15-15) and Ellie Weaver (10-10).
MAKIN' MOVES:
Paulina Vargas earned another 9.800 on floor against the Crimson Tide, extending her streak of weeks with a 9.800 or better on floor exercise to four. After competing in the two spot during each of the team's first three competitions, the Mexico City, Mexico, native moved into the leadoff spot, earning a season-best 9.875 against No. 23 Utah State last weekend before this week's 9.800 at No. 3 Alabama.
A move to the anchor spot has also been pivotal for Olivia Buckner, who started the season with one 9.800 or better vault score in the opening three meets. Since moving to the six spot, Buckner has put up a 9.850 and 9.825, leading the team in scoring on that event for two-consecutive weeks.
ONE HUNDO:
Entering last week's competition with 96 hits in 99 total routines, Sophia Esposito went a perfect 4-4, finishing with a 39.325 in the all-around thanks to a pair of 9.800s on vault and bars, 9.850 on beam and 9.875 on floor. With that 9.850 beam score, the Melville, N.Y., native has officially reached 100 hits in her OSU career while also increasing her total of 9.800 or better scores to 16 across 18 total routines in 2026.
CALMING PRESENCE:
Savannah Miller's senior season has been marked by consistency, competing three events in each of the team's five competitions and maintaining a perfect hit rate. On Friday in Tuscaloosa, Miller's experience proved pivotal for the OSU floor lineup, as the Michigan native followed an 8.950 and 9.650 but delivered with a 9.850 of her own. Through five meets, Miller has excelled on that event, averaging a 9.840 and posting a 9.850 or better in each of the last four competitions.
UP NEXT:
Oregon State gymnastics is back home for its next meet, hosting future Pac-12 opponent Southern Utah on Feb. 14. The action is set to begin at 2 p.m. inside legendary Gill Coliseum.
