Talt Spurs Late-Inning Comeback For OSU Baseball’s First Win Of 2026
February 14, 2026 | Baseball
SURPRISE, Ariz. – Easton Talt drove in two runs in Oregon State's five-run seventh inning in the Beavers' 7-6 come-from-behind win over Arizona Saturday afternoon at Surprise Stadium.
Talt singled home a pair on a shot to right center, which came a few at bats after Jacob Galloway pulled the Beavers to within one on a two-run double. Nyan Hayes then reached on an infield single for the Beavers' final run of the inning and the game.
The Wildcats, who scored once in the fifth and four times in the sixth, plated one run in the ninth. Albert Roblez, Oregon State's final of five pitchers, got the last two outs of the game for the save.
Those five OSU (1-1) pitchers combined to strike out 18 Arizona batters. Ethan Kleinschmit started and scattered one run and three hits in five innings. He struck out nine.
Noah Scott, making his Oregon State debut, worked 2 1/3 innings, allowing one run with three walks and five strikeouts. He earned the win.
OSU scored first, in the first, when Talt scored on a wild pitch. The Beavers added to the lead in the third when Tyler Inge scored on a double steal.
Galloway had his second two-hit game for the Beavers, who finished with eight as a team.
Arizona's Benton Hickman took the loss, his first of the year. He allowed one hit and two runs in 1/3 of an inning.
The Beavers continue play in Surprise Sunday when taking on Stanford at 11 a.m. PT (noon in Arizona).
