No. 7 Oregon State Beavers at BYU
Date: Jan. 9, 2026
Time: 7 p.m. MT / 6 p.m. PT
Location: Marriott Center – Provo, Utah
Watch: Streaming on ESPN+
Live Scoring: Virtius
RANKED:
Oregon State sits at No. 7 in the RoadToNationals Week One poll. Among the 20 teams to compete over the weekend, OSU sits at No. 7 for vault, tied for sixth on bars, fourth for beam and No. 11 on floor exercise. Sophia Esposito (Vault - t7), Camryn Richardson (vault - t7) and Taylor DeVries (bars - t1) all sit in the top-10 nationally for their individual scores last week.
HIT RATE:
Despite having seven different student-athletes make their collegiate debuts in Seattle, the Beavers managed to hit on 22 of 24 total routines, a rate of 91.7%, with a hit being defined as any score 9.650 or greater.
DEBUTANTS:
Kaylee Cheek and Camryn Richardson tied for the highest score among Beaver gymnasts making their first appearances in orange and black. Though both competed multiple events, both earned a 9.850 in their first routine of the meet, with Cheek's coming on beam and Richardson's on vault. Five other student-athletes also made their debuts as Kyanna Crabb and Katie Rude vaulted while Sophia Kaloudis, Reina Marchal and Paulina Vargas all competed on floor.
VAULTING VAN:
Savannah Miller, historically a member of the floor and bars lineup, executed the first vault of her Oregon State career, sticking the landing to earn a 9.725 in the three spot. Saturday's meet marked a first for the Waterford, Mich., native, as she competed in three events, hitting and earning between a 9.700 and 9.750 for each routine.
ESPOSITO'S EXCELLENCE:
Sophia Esposito has been a prominent figure for Oregon State since joining the program ahead of the 2024 season, earning Pac-12 Freshman of the Year honors before finishing her sophomore campaign with 39 hits in 39 routines. At the Best of the West Quad, Esposito once again showed why she remains a key part of the team, rattling off a trio of 9.800-plus scores on vault (9.850), beam (9.825) and floor (9.800) while also completing an exhibition routine on the bars.
BEST OF THE BEST:
Taylor DeVries earned OSU's highest score of the meet last week, seeing a 9.90 from judge one and 9.95 from judge two to finish with a 9.925 on the uneven bars. Among 117 different student-athletes who completed a bars routine last week across all divisions of the NCAA, DeVries' 9.925 was tied for the highest mark, a score that puts her in line with Jordan Chiles (UCLA), Tonya Paulsson (California) and Hannah Horton (Missouri); with four other athletes earning a 9.900, including DeVries, there were just eight athletes who scored a 9.900-plus on that event.
SHE'S BACK:
Ellie Weaver made her return from a long-term injury late last season, completing a pair of exhibition bar routines late in the regular season before joining the lineup officially in Tuscaloosa, Ala., at the regional. Fast forward nine months, and Weaver competed in two events for the Beavers on Saturday, scoring a pair of 9.750s on bars and beam, even anchoring OSU's balance beam lineup.
BEAMIN':
Speaking of the beam, Oregon State's beam lineup was one of the nation's best in 2025, finishing the year ranked sixth nationally, and it once again proved pivotal during the Best of the West Quad, as the team's highest rotation score came on the apparatus. Esposito (9.825) and Cheek (9.850) led things off before a Mia Heather 9.800 and Lauren Letzsch 9.850 set up Weaver's 9.750; among the 20 programs to compete last week, OSU's 49.075 was tied for sixth best.

Oregon State returns to action at home next weekend, hosting Sacramento State at Gill Coliseum. The action commences at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 16.
