WBB To Battle Cougars and Redhawks This Weekend
January 06, 2026 | Women's Basketball
CORVALLIS, Ore. – It's time for Pac-12 At A Reasonable Evening Hour as Oregon State heads to Washington State in a battle of both former and future conference foes before hosting Seattle U on Saturday.
Â
The Beavers travel to Pullman coming off a 3-0 start to league play for the second straight season and will look to keep their early momentum rolling this time when they battle the Cougars. WSU swept the season series in 2024-25 and enters the game with confidence after getting starting center Alex Covill back from injury in a win over Seattle on Sunday.
Â
Seattle U will make its sixth trip to Gill Coliseum on Saturday. The Beavers are 4-1 at home and 5-2 all-time against the Redhawks including an 89-53 victory early in the 2022-23 season.

EXORCISING DEMONS FROM 2024-25
The early WCC slate set Oregon State up to pick up a few payback victories and the chance to win in buildings where they lost tight games in 2024-25. The Beavers opened league play with wins at USF (lost 52-50 in 24-25) and Saint Mary's (lost 69-66 after 17-point comeback by SMC) before blowing out Pacific, which swept the Beavs by a combined four points last year with both games in Stockton.
Â
AGE IS JUST A NUMBER
Due to a mix of injuries, redshirts, covid years and Pavia waivers, three Beavers will be in at least their sixth season of college basketball this year: Catarina Ferreira (6th), Néné Sow (6th) and Lizzy Williamson (7th).
Â
NO CHARITY
As in year's past, Oregon State's clean defense meant opposing teams rarely make it to the charity stripe. The Beavers allow the fewest opponent free throw attempts per game in the WCC and 8th-fewest in the nation this season at 10.7. OSU's opponents are shooting four fewer free throws per game than their next-closest conference foe (Gonzaga, 14.8). For context, the gap between OSU and Gonzaga is larger than the gap between the Bulldogs and last in the conference (2.8 FTA/game).Â
