Winning Streak Snapped in LA

LOS ANGELES – LMU snapped Oregon State's seven-game winning streak with a 55-51 victory over the Beavers in Gerten Pavillion on Thursday night.
Kennedie Shuler had yet another strong all-around performance with 12 points, seven rebounds, six assists, a block and a steal. It was the 14th game of the year where Shuler dished out 5-or-more assists.
Jenna Villa scored 13 points to lead the team in scoring while shooting 5-of-11 from the floor. Tiara Bolden added 11 points, four rebounds and a block.
The Beavers trailed from the outset as LMU shot 71 percent from three in the first quarter to take a 19-12 lead after one. The Lions got eight second chance points in the first half to hang on to a 31-30 halftime advantage.
OSU entered the fourth quarter up 45-44 after two Shuler free throws gave them the lead in a back-and-forth third. The two teams traded leads and ties in the fourth before LMU pulled away late. The Lions held the Beavers without a basket for the final 5:15 while scoring twice to pick up the win.
OSU outshot LMU 44.2%-34.4% on the game, but the Lions used 13 offensive rebounds to help them take 18 more shots than the Beavs. LMU also finished the game shooting 8-of-15 (53.3%) from three.
The Beavers continue their LA road trip on Saturday at Pepperdine. The game tips at 2pm and will be streamed on ESPN+
