May 13, 2025 | Softball
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Three Oregon State softball players were recognized on Tuesday by the West Coast Conference for their achievements in the classroom.
Â
Ellie Garcia was named to the league's All-Academic Team while Morgan Howey and Logan Hulon were chosen as Honorable Mention.
Â
Garcia closed her career being ranked among the league's best arms, striking out 94 batters – which placed fifth in the WCC. She won a career-high 11 games in 2025 behind nine outings with five-plus strikeouts. The Chino, Calif., native graduated with a bachelor's of English and maintained a 3.76 GPA.
Â
One of the Beavers' offensive leaders, Howey paced OSU in four categories in the 2025 campaign. The Arcadia, Calif., product had a team-best 49 hits and put together three hitting streaks of five games or more and closed the season with hits in nine of the last 10. In the outfield, she had a near-perfect fielding rate (.991) from just one error in 115 chances. Howey is working toward a bachelor's of biology and has a 3.34 GPA.
Â
Leading the conference in wins (13), strikeouts (167) and looking strikeouts (46), Hulon closed out her career with this season after two years in Corvallis. Twice named the WCC's Pitcher of the Week, Hulon hit double-digit totals in strikeouts on three occasions as well as combining for 15 across 12.0 frames thrown in two wins at Pacific earlier this month. Hulon holds a 3.38 GPA and is working toward completion of her master's of business administration.
