Varsity Eights Named WCC Crew of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Oregon State's varsity eight boat has been named West Coast Conference Crew of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday.
Coxed by Taylor Denger, the varsity eights were victorious for the No. 17 Beavers in a race against No. 21 Gonzaga and Portland, finishing the course in 6:28.60 with about a seven second margin of victory ahead of GU (6:35.14) and UP (6:57.39).
Saturday's win put a cap on a tremendous day of racing for the Beavs, who swept the NCAA boat races after an 11 second victory in the 1V4+ and five second victory in the 2V8+ races; joining Denger in the boat were Giulia Clerici, Charlotte Lightfoot, Lauren Garrett, Rhi Loughnan, Tulla Angeley, Annelise Norkitis, Ashtyn Miller and Linda Weitmann.
Tuesday's announcement marked the Beavs' first weekly award of the season.
Oregon State women's rowing returns to action on Saturday, competing head-to-head on the road against Washington State.
