Women’s Basketball Opens Conference Play in the Bay
December 26, 2025 | Women's Basketball
SAN FRANCISCO – Oregon State's WCC title defense begins in earnest on Sunday when the Beavers open league play at San Francisco and Saint Mary's.
The Beavs will be looking for their first conference road win at both venues after dropping road games to the Dons and Gaels last season. The season series with USF was particularly close with OSU going 2-1 in the three games with the total margin of victory being 11 points.

YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW
Néné Sow's per-game numbers may not jump off the page, but her single-game performances showcase her ability to make a major impact thanks to the senior's effort and size. The 6th-year senior is one of seven WCC players with multiple 12+ rebound games after pulling down 12 boards in one half (plus overtime) against Arizona State.
GET HER TO THE LINE
Jenna Villa emerged as Scott Rueck's go-to free-throw shooter in crunch time at the Maui Classic. Rueck drew up several plays to get Villa the ball in obvious fouling situations and she converted 7-of-8 free throws to seal the wins. On the year, Villa is the ninth-best free throw shooter in the country, making 91.5 percent of her freebies.
YOU'RE CALLING THE REJECTION HOTLINE
Oregon State's #1 rule on defense is No Layups and a talented quartet of rim protectors are enforcing that rule. The Beavers are one of eight teams nationally with four players who have at least 10 blocks this season (Kennedie Shuler, Néné Sow, Lizzy Williamson and Lara Alonso-Basurto) and they rank 26th nationally with 5.2 blocks per game.
