
Beavers Beat Bobcats

CORVALLIS – The Oregon State men's basketball team claimed its third-straight win with a 67-57 win over Montana State Saturday afternoon at Gill Coliseum.
Josiah Lake II had an outstanding all-around game, finishing with 16 points on 5-for-6 shooting to go with eight rebounds, six assists and two steals. Yaak Yaak came off the bench to finish with 10 points and a career-high five blocks.
Jorge Diaz Graham recorded 10 points and eight rebounds in his first start as a Beaver. Dez White had 12 points and five rebounds. Isaiah Sy finished with 12 points, three rebounds, a block and a steal.
As a team, the Beavers shot 42 percent from the floor, compared to 37 percent for the Bobcats. Oregon State shot 92.1 percent from the stripe, including a 6-for-6 effort from Lake.
The two sides traded punches early on, as Oregon State took a 14-11 lead into the under-12 media break. The Bobcats evened the score at 22-22 with just over four minutes left in the period.
Oregon State led 29-27 at the intermission. Lake led the Beavers with eight first-half points.
The Beavers used an 8-0 run to open up a 47-36 lead less than eight minutes into the second frame. The Bobcats answered with a 6-0 run, but Sy answered with a 3-pointer to put OSU back up by nine. OSU scored six unanswered late in the contest to secure the 10-point win.
Oregon State will be back at Gill Coliseum Wednesday to host Sam Houston.
