August 23, 2024 | Women's Volleyball
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State volleyball team will close out the 2024 preseason tomorrow, August 24, with a home exhibition against longtime rival, Oregon. First serve with the Ducks is slated for 4 p.m.
Fans can get their second look in Gill Coliseum in as many weeks to see the Beavers as they are set to compete in the second season under the direction of head coach Lindsey Behonick. Starting play this season in the West Coast Conference, the Beavers were tabbed for a fourth-place spot while two – Annika Hester and Lauren Rumel – were named to the all-league team.
In addition to free admission to the contest, fans can stay after for "Signing Saturday" and get autographs from their favorite student-athletes.
The 2024 squad features key returners such as Ryan White, Amanda Burns and Rumel while the coaching staff signed seven freshmen – Alondra Paz, Zaria Thornton, Emma Lilo, Regan Shields, Yasemin Narlioglu, Alara Doganyüz, and Alexis Rodriguez - who will look to make an instant impact. From the transfer portal, the team added Hester (San Diego), Elly Schraeder (San Diego State) and Kalli Schoening (Eckerd).
During the regular season, Beaver Nation can see the team 11 times in Gill Coliseum with nine WCC matchups on the home floor. A battle with Washington will open the home schedule on September 17th.
