Guard From the Beaver State Returns Home
May 30, 2024 | Women's Basketball
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State added another guard to its 2024-25 roster as in-state product Tiara Bolden will return to the Beaver State after playing at Eastern Arizona and La Salle.
Bolden is from Eugene – a graduate of Churchill High School - and will close her college career at Oregon State. As a junior, she averaged 8.0 points 4.2 rebounds and just over a steal per game for the Explorers. Bolden finished the year with four double-figure scoring games in her final five contests, including a career-high 25 points to lead the team past Fordham.
"Tiara is a dynamic and versatile guard who impacts the game in a variety of ways. She is a disruptive defender and a threat to score at the rim or over the top," head coach Scott Rueck said. "I have enjoyed getting to know her and her family, and I'm happy that she chose finish her career at Oregon State."
"The reason why I chose Oregon State was because this is where I fell in love with basketball," Bolden said. "The staff and the community welcomed me with open arms, as if I've been part of their family! As a full circle moment, I knew this is where I wanted to finish my collegiate career."
La Salle faced three power conference foes last season with Bolden putting forth strong efforts each time. The then-junior scored 14 points to go with 6 rebounds against Virginia, 12 points on 3-of-3 three-point shooting vs. Villanova and six points against Rutgers.
Prior to joining the explorers, Bolden played for Eastern Arizona where she started 25 games while averaging 9.1 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. She was the ACCAC Player of the Week after snaring 27 rebounds in two wins for the Monsters.
Bolden is the second in-state athlete on the Oregon State roster, joining sophomore guard Kennedie Shuler. She is the third addition to the Beaver roster for 2024-25.
