Oregon State Notables
• Eric Segura, Sunday's probable starter, is making his 10th start of the season. He is making his fourth away from Goss Stadium at Coleman Field and is 1-0 with 14 strikeouts to four walks in 13 1/3 innings away from home.
• Segura has struck out 42 overall while issuing eight walks in 43 innings. That's a 5.25:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
• Travis Bazzana's fourth-inning home run Saturday was his first since April 9 against Portland when he set the Oregon State career record. He has 36 for his career.
• The home run tied Bazzana with Trevor Larnach for second in OSU's single-season history with 19 home runs. Bazzana is two two shy of tying Jim Wilson for the program record. Wilson hit 21 in 1982.
• The Beavers have hit at least one home run in 20 consecutive games.
• Eight consecutive Oregon State home runs have come with two outs. Gavin Turley and Mason Guerra have two home runs apiece during that stretch.
• Bazzana walked twice, pushing his career total to 151, five shy of equaling Garret Forrester (2021-23) and Adley Rutschman (2017-19) for most in a career. Bazzana also has 47 on the season.
• Bazzana is also now ninth at OSU with 148 career RBI. He needs two to move into an eighth-place tie with KJ Harrison (2015-17).
• The Beavers' three-game losing streak is the team's longest of the season. OSU's last losing streak of three or more games was March 17-19 of 2023 when getting swept at Stanford.
• Brady Kasper tallied two hits for his third multi-hit game of the season Saturday. It marked his first since Feb. 23 against Arkansas.
• Jacob Kmatz has scattered 13 hits, five runs and two walks with 17 strikeouts in his last 20 1/3 innings over his last three starts. That's a 0.73 WHIP and 2.21 earned run average over that stretch.
• Sunday's game is the fifth of six consecutive games away from home for the Beavers. The road finale will be a neutral-site contest against Portland in Hillsboro on Tuesday.
