WINNERS WIN
Scott Rueck enters Year 29 at Oregon State as one of college basketball's most proven winners. In 15 years at OSU he took a team that needed tryouts to fill a roster in his first year to three Elite Eights, five Sweet 16s and the 2016 Final Four. Prior to joining OSU, Rueck turned George Fox into a Division III power, winning the 2009 National Championship. In 2024-25, Rueck is closing in on 300 wins with the Beavers and 600 career victories. He would be one of 16 active coaches with 600 wins.
EXPERIENCE TRANSFERS
In 2023-24, the Beavers benefitted from Rees' leadership and experience winning a Pac-12 Championship at Utah while making two NCAA Tournaments. Coach Rueck is looking for the same boost this year from transfer wing Catarina Ferreira, who reached the Sweet 16 last season and went 2-for-2 on postseason appearances at Baylor.
THE CROWN COMES HOME
Tiara Bolden returns to the Beaver State after spending seasons at Eastern Arizona College and La Salle. The Churchill HS (Eugene, Ore.) product averaged 8.0 points/game last season for the Explorers but played her best ball against top teams. Bolden scored 14 points against Virginia and added 12 more against Villanova, both on 50% shooting or better. Down the stretch of the season, the then-junior averaged 10 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game.
