
Beavers Drop Contest with Huskies

SEATTLE, Wash. – The Oregon State men's basketball team fell to Washington 79-72 Saturday afternoon in Seattle, Wash.

Jordan Pope finished in double-figures for the 18th-straight contest, going for a career-high 29 points on 10-for-17 shooting from the floor. Pope has now scored at least 20 points in three-straight games, and four of his last five.

Tyler Bilodeau tallied 21 points and seven rebounds, the second 20-point game of his career. Josiah Lake II recorded six points while Justin Rochelin finished with five.

As a team Oregon State shot 45 percent from the floor.

The Beavers jumped in front early, taking an 11-4 lead into the game's first media timeout, but the Huskies battled back to level the score at 14. Washington used a 16-0 run to go in front by 11.

Oregon State answered with a run late in the first half capped off by a Bilodeau tip-in at the buzzer to head to the break trailing 38-33.

The teams went back-and-forth in the early part of the second half. Washington was able to extend the advantage to 11 at the mid-way point of the closing period. Oregon State got back within six with two minutes to play, and came within five late on, but could not get any closer.

Keion Brooks Jr. led the Huskies with 26 points. Sahvir Wheeler finished with 16.

The Beavers will return home Thursday for a matchup with Stanford.
