Women’s Soccer Opens Home Slate with UCSD

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State women's soccer team opens the home portion of their schedule with a matinee matchup against UC San Diego on Thursday at 2p.m. at Lorenz Field.
Fans are encouraged to wear orange and rally towels will be available while supply last as the Beavs will debut new orange kits for the first time.
Last Time Out
Oregon State women's soccer fell 4-0 to the No. 19 Santa Clara Broncos on Sunday afternoon at Stevens Stadium.
The Beavs (1-1-0) held the Broncos (2-0-0) scoreless through the first half, despite being outshot 11-3.
However, Santa Clara broke through for three goals in just over 16 minutes of game time to take control of the match early in the second half and seal the win. The Broncos added their final goal in the 88th minute.
Last Time Against UC San Diego
Thursday's match marks the first time the two teams have met.
Scouting the Tritons
Hosting Sacred Heart in their home opener, the UC San Diego women's soccer team defeated the visitors by a score of 1-0 on a lone goal by Courtney Hilliard to move to 1-0-1 on the year.
UC San Diego junior Raquel Kalpakoff had a breakout game in the season opener at Pacific (Aug. 17). She scored three second half goals in a span of 11 minutes as the Tritons rallied from 3-0 and 4-1 second half deficits to earn a draw on the road. Her hat trick marked her first three career goals; she had only one shot on goal over her first two collegiate seasons.
