No. 12 Beavs Secure Season-High 197.300 at No. 25 Washington

SEATTLE – Recording a season-high on bars and matching a season-high on vault with a 49.300 on each apparatus, the No. 12 Oregon State gymnastics team recorded a season-best 197.300 to defeat the 195.225 of Washington on Saturday afternoon at Alaska Airlines Arena.
"I'm really encouraged by our effort today," head coach Tanya Chaplin said. "We keep improving week-by-week and our team keeps growing together. I'm excited to get back to Gill and be in front of Beaver Nation the next two weeks."
After recording their highest score at UCLA in program history, the trend continued, as the Beavs 197.300 was the highest mark in a duel against Washington in Seattle. The score also ties the 15th-best score in program history.
Sophomore Jade Carey ran her event titles up to 66 with victories on bars, vault and beam, while resting in the floor rotation. Junior Sydney Gonzales joined Carey on the podium on beam with a career-best 9.950 for her second event title on beam in her career.
Having shown steady improvement throughout the season, the bars squad posted the aforementioned season-high 49.300, behind freshman Ellie Weaver's career-high 9.875 and Carey's season-high 9.975.

OSU notched their second 49.300 on the day and second of the season on vault to match a season best on the apparatus. Sophomore Lauren Letzsch tied her career best with a 9.850, while Madi Dagen matched a season high with a 9.850.

Gonzales's career-high 9.950 was matched by Carey to lead the GymBeavs, while Letzsch had her second season high of the night on beam.
