February 10, 2023 | Women's Gymnastics
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The No. 13 Oregon State gymnastics team earned its second tie of the season and tied the 12th highest score in program history, battling No. 7 Cal to a 197.375 draw on Friday night at Gill Coliseum
"Again, I'm just proud of the fight our team showed," head coach Tanya Chaplin said. "We got off to a slow start on vault but didn't let it affect our next three events. Our young bars group continues to get better every week and I thought our veterans on beam were strong like usual. This team really feeds off the energy of our home crowd and it showed on floor to end the meet. We can't wait to see them again next Saturday."
Sophomore Jade Carey captured the all-around title by matching her season-high 39.825 to take all four event titles, running her career total to 71 event titles and 15 all-around titles.
The Beavs got off to a bit of a slow start on vault, recording a 49.075 across the board to open the meet. The rotation was highlighted by Natalie Briones earning a career-high 9.825 in the leadoff spot for the Beavs.
