Vernon Honored by Pac-12

CORVALLIS, Ore. – After being near the top of the league in multiple offensive categories, Mychael Vernon was named Honorable Mention All-Pac-12, the league announced on Tuesday.
The outside hitter finished fourth in kills (428), sixth in kills/set (3.57) and even finished 12th in digs (347) and 14th in digs/set (2.54). A formidable presence for Oregon State, Vernon tallied double-digit kills in 24 matches, including in 15 of the last 18 times out. In Pac-12 play, she put up nine double-doubles, even a 19-kill, 21-dig performance in a five-set triumph over Arizona.
Helping on the defensive end, she was second on the Beavs with 305 digs, including the 21-dig outburst against the Wildcats.
Toward the end of nonconference season, she put up career highs in kills (26) and points (29) against Cal Baptist.
Vernon became just the 17th Beaver to achieve 1,000 kills in her career.
