
No. 14 Oregon State Opens Season at Super 16 in Las Vegas

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The No. 14 Oregon State gymnastics team begins the 2023 season this Friday, January 6 at the Super 16 presented by Ozone. Oregon State will compete at 8 p.m. PT against No. 17 Stanford, No. 20 Georgia and Rutgers at the Orleans Arena.
"We're excited to get the season started," head coach Tanya Chaplin said. "It's been a great preseason and we're looking forward to getting back out and competing again on the competition floor with other teams."
The Super 16 presented by Ozone boasts a field of 16 universities that includes five of the top 10 teams, as well as 13 of the top 25, in the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association's pre-season rankings.
The Beavers are in Session 2 of the competition and will be aired live on the Big Ten Network, while live results will be provided by @BeaverGym on Twitter.
The Big Ten Network is providing live coverage of Sessions 1, 2 and 4. The Super 16 is the first women's collegiate event of the season, and the Big Ten Network's live coverage of Session 1 marks the season's first collegiate broadcast.
Chaplin, enters year 26 at the helm of the GymBeavs, having compiled a 453-271-3 record over the course of her tenure.
Seventeen returners highlight the Beavers 21-member roster for the 2023 season, including Pac-12 Gymnast and Freshman of the Year Jade Carey, as well as First Team All-Pac-12 team member Madi Dagen returning for a fifth year, while the GymBeavs welcome four freshman to the mix in Francesca Caso, Jennifer McMillan, Savannah Miller and Ellie Weaver.
