Szulczewski Earns Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week
September 12, 2022 | Women's Volleyball
CORVALLIS – After recording Oregon State's first triple-double in five years, Izzi Szulczewski earned Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Â
Szulczewski racked up 22 digs to go with 12 assists and 11 kills for the triple-double and averaged 6.13 digs per set over the weekend, 1.13 more than any other Pac-12 player. She played both setter and outside hitter for the Beavs, competing in all six rotations and totaling double-digit digs in all three matches.Â
Â
If her efforts in the back row weren't enough, Szulczewski also had 0.75 blocks per set on the weekend. She rejected six attacks and was a key part of Oregon State's season-best 17 blocks in the four-set win over North Texas.
Â
The Beavers close out the non-conference slate this weekend in New Orleans at the Green Wave Invitational.
