Beavers Post Third-Place Finish at Pac-12 Championships
May 15, 2022 | Men's Rowing
DEXTER LAKE, Ore. – The Oregon State men's rowing team placed third in the Pac-12 Championship team standings for the second-straight season, as the event was held Sunday at Dexter Lake.
"The venue of Dexter Lake delivered in a perfect backdrop for this Championship," said Oregon State head coach Gabe Winkler. "I'm proud of how each boat put everything out there for this race. The Varsity 8+ flew out of the blocks and raced hard. The JV had a ferocious sprint. I believe we raised our level today. It's great to come in third as a team. The crowd was great with all the alums in their varsity jackets and the families shouting support. Go Beavs!"
The Oregon State Varsity 8 finished fourth with a time of 5:53.68, less than four seconds behind third-place Stanford. The Beavers' 2V8 also placed fourth, narrowly missing third by a margin of less than two seconds.
The OSU Varsity 4 took third, stopping the clock in 6:55.9. Oregon State's 3V8 also placed third, finishing in 6:07.23.
The Beavers will now await the selection show for the IRA National Championships.
This weekend marked the first time Pac-12 Championships had been held at Dexter Lake.
