The Rivalry on Deck for Beavs
November 03, 2022 | Women's Soccer
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State women's soccer team will complete the 2022 season with a visit south to Eugene for a match with the Ducks. Action from Papé Field is set for 7 p.m. and can be seen on Pac-12 Network Oregon.
The Oregon State-Oregon Rivalry Series is presented by Safeway-Albertsons, PacificSource Health Plans, Your Local Toyota Dealers and First Interstate Bank.
In their last time out, the Beavers battled back from an early deficit for a 3-1 win over Arizona State in Tempe this past Sunday. 15 minutes after the Sun Devils broke the scoreless tie, Amber Jackson started the offensive frenzy for OSU with a strike of her own. In a 10-minute stretch, Amaya Bautista and Bryana Pizarro scored off consecutive corners to help secure the result.
SCOUTING OREGON
The Ducks come into The Rivalry having dropped three of their previous four – most recently having dropped decisions to the Arizona opposition on the road. Oregon's offense has been led by Ajanae Respass, who has tallied 10 points from four goals and a pair of assists. Behind Respass are a pair of scorers – Trinity Morales (2 G, 2 A) and Lexi Romero (3 G) with six points apiece. In net, Leah Freeman has stopped a Pac-12-high 108 shots in 1378 minutes for Oregon.
LAST TIME AGAINST THE DUCKS
A Maddie Tetz goal off a Sophie Conrad assist in the 70th minute secured a 2-2 draw at Paul Lorenz Field in 2021's edition of The Rivalry. Oregon took the last meeting in Eugene when they struck just seven minutes into the overtime period for a 1-0 win in April 2021.
With a win, the Beavers can even the series when played in enemy territory, to 7-7-2.
