Oregon State's second varsity eight wins
DEXTER, Ore. – The Oregon State women's rowing team opened its 2021 season on Saturday, as the Beavers faced off against Washington State at Dexter Lake. The event was the first competition for the squad since March 7, 2020.
The Beavers' second Varsity 8 topped the Cougars' with a time of 6:55.9. Coxed by Nicki Shulz, the boat featured Shelby Larkin, Becca Pritchard, Kathryn Clemens, Madeline Toaso, Maria-Christina Amundson, Callan Jackman, Anna Schulhoff and Gabriella Yakemow.
Oregon State's first Varsity 8 was edged by the Washington State, clocking in at 6:42.7 – 2.5 seconds behind the WSU boat. The Beavers's Varsity 4 also placed second with a time of 7:47.8.
The Beavers will return to action next weekend, as they head to Columbus, Ohio for the Big Ten Double-Dual.
