Mitchell to Represent Beavers at NCAA Championships

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Redshirt sophomore Kaylee Mitchell is set to represent the Oregon State women's cross country team at the NCAA Championships in Tallahassee, Fla. on Saturday. The women's 6K is scheduled for 7:20 a.m. PT (10:20 a.m. ET) at Apalachee Regional Park. The meet will be broadcasted on ESPNU starting at 7 a.m. PT.Â

The Beavers traveled to Sacramento, Calif. to compete at the NCAA West Regional on Nov. 12, taking seventh in the team standings with 206 points. Mitchell led the Beavers, posting a 6K personal-best of 20:15.8 to place 12th in the individual standings. Her 12th-place finish tied the highest individual finish at the NCAA West Regional meet by a Beaver, marked by Juilana Mount in 2018. The Salem, Ore. native also earned All-Region recognition along with fellow redshirt sophomore Grace Fetherstonhaugh, who finished 14th with a personal-best of 20:17.6.

On Mar. 15, 2021, No. 23 Oregon State recorded its best team finish in program history at the NCAA Championships, landing 16th in the team standings with 375 points at the OSU Cross Country Course in Stillwater, Okla. Mitchell and Batya Beard earned All-American honors for placing in the top-40, with Mitchell finishing 20th (20:38.5) and Beard taking 37th (20:57.7).Â
