CORVALLIS ā Oregon State standout Mikayla Pivec has been named to the Wooden Award national ballot, the Los Angeles Athletic Club announced Saturday.
Ā
The 15-player ballot was chosen by a poll of national women's college basketball media members. Voting will take place from March 17th to March 24th, and voters take into consideration a player's entire season of play, as well as the opening rounds of the NCAA Tournament.
Ā
The Wooden Award All American Team, consisting of the nation's top five players and the finalists for the Wooden Award, will be announced following the "Elite Eight" round of the NCAA Tournament and will be the focus of a 30-minute show on April 3rd on ESPNU at 6:30pm ET.
Ā
Saturday's honor is the latest in a long line of national recognition for Pivec. The senior has been named to the Cheryl Miller Award Top-10, and the Naismith Trophy Midseason Team, and is a semifinalist for the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Award. The guard was tabbed as the Preseason WNIT MVP and to the All-Tournament Teams for both the Maui Classic and the Miami Thanksgiving Classic.
