
Beavers Head to Pac-12 Championships as Third Seed

The 14th-ranked Oregon State (12-3) gymnastics team travels to the state of Utah for the first time in 2019 to compete at the Pac-12 Championships at the Maverik Center in West Valley City ... The Beavers are the third-seeded team and will compete in the evening session beginning at 5 p.m. PDT ... Also in the evening session with OSU will be top-seeded UCLA, Utah and California. The 2019 championship event is the first time the Pac-12 Conference has hosted the meet at a neutral location.

REGIONALS IN CORVALLIS
• Oregon State will host the 2019 NCAA Regional Championships April 4-6. It is the first time OSU has hosted regionals since 2013.
• This year's regionals consists of a new format that includes three days (four meets) of competition.
• All-session tickets are available now for the three-day regional competition.
• All-session reserved passes are $42. Adult general admission is $27 and senior (62 and up)/youth (ages 3-18) general admission is $21.
• Single session tickets will go on sale at 9 a.m. each day of the regional competition for that day's session(s) only.
• Tickets can be secured by visiting BeaverTickets.com, by calling 1-800-GO-BEAVS and at the OSU Ticket Office.
OSU AT PAC-12 CHAMPIONSHIPS
Here are some quick hitters about Oregon State's history in the Pac-12 Championships:
• Oregon State is one of only four schools - along with UCLA, Stanford and Utah - to have won the Pac-10/12 Championships in the 32-year history of the event.
• The Beavers are seeking their seventh conference title and third since 2010.
• OSU has a 1-2 record against their direct competition this year defeating California and falling to UCLA and Utah. All of those competitions were in Corvallis. The Beavers tallied thier highest score of the season season against UCLA (197.475) and went 24-for-24 against Cal, the only time they've accomplished the feat so far in 2019.
• Twenty-four OSU gymnasts have combined to win 44 individual conference titles over the course of 32 years.
INCREDIBLE SENIORS
• Last Friday's meet marked the final time OSU's three seniors - Mariana Colussi-Pelaez, Mary Jacobsen and McKenna Singley - would compete in Gill Coliseum during the regular season.
• The trio has combined to hit 66 out of 71 routines thus far in 2019.
• Last week Mariana Colussi-Pelaez, a microbiology major with an option in pre-med and minors in chemistry and Spanish, learned she has been accepted to medical school at University College Cork in Ireland.
• Mary Jacobsen, who studies computer science, has landed a job with Google upon graduation later this spring.
• McKenna Singley, who is majoring in sociology with an option in crime and justice, has recently been accepted to the University of Utah's S.J. Quinney College of Law.
OREGON STATE NOTES
• The Beavers returned 22 out of 24 routines from the 2018 NCAA Regionals lineup this season. However, only 14 of those routines remain in the lineup as of last Friday's regular season finale.
• Oregon State has 'hit' 223 out of 240 (92.9%) routines in 2019 ... in comparison, the Beavers 'hit' 274 out of 288 (95.1%) routines last year.
• The Beavers have hit 24-for-24 only once this season - against California, Feb. 17.
• OSU has counted two falls in 2019 - against Utah (beam) and against Alaska and Bowling Green (beam).
• Through 10 meets, OSU's routine production breakdown looks like this: Juniors have performed 85 of 240 routines in 2019 (35.4%), seniors have produced 71 of 240 (29.6%), sophomore 55 of 240 (22.9%) and freshmen 29 of 240 (12.1%).
• Eleven of OSU's 15 regular season opponents on the 2019 schedule are ranked in this week's Top 36, including three among the top six; No. 2 UCLA, No. 3 LSU, No. 6 Utah, No. 9 Kentucky, No. 14 California, No. 18 Washington, No. 21 Arizona State, No. 26 Stanford, No. 30 Arizona, No. 32 Illinois and No. 34 Iowa.
• Seventeen OSU gymnasts earned a 3.0 GPA or better during fall term - 11 of those were 3.5 or above including two 4.0s. The Beavers represent seven different colleges among their majors and two study in the Honors College.
QUICK STICKS
• All four of OSU's lineups are ranked among the top 25 in the nation. The floor lineup is the highest ranked for the Beavers at No. 10 (49.330, National Qualifying Score), beam is tied at No. 15 (49.160), vault is at No. 16 (49.105) and bars ranks 24th (49.075).
• OSU scored 197.450 against UCLA, tying the sixth-highest score in school history.
• The Beavers registered a 49.600 on the floor exercise, missing the school-record by just .100, and besting the Bruins' top-ranked floor lineup.
• Oregon State opened the season on the road for the third straight season ... the Beavers now have a 5-0 record in those road season-openers.
• Madi Dagen earned Pac-12 honors for the first time in her career when she was named as the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week following the Beavers' win at Arizona, Feb. 8. She tied her career-high with a 9.875 on the vault and won the first event titles of her career on vault and beam (9.90).
• Kaitlyn Yanish picked up Pac-12 Specialist of the Week honors for the first time in her career following OSU's win at Arizona State, Feb. 22. She registered a career-best 9.90 on the vault to win the event title and addeda 9.925 on the floor to tie for the event high.
• Yanish earned Pac-12 Specialist of the Week for the second time following her performance at LSU, March 8. She posted a career-best 9.925 on the vault to win the event title and added a 9.950 on the floor exercise to finish third.
LAST WEEK'S QUAD MEET
• Oregon State, ranked No. 15, took first in its home quad meet against Iowa, North Carolina and Seattle Pacific on Senior Night. The Beavers scored 196.550 to top the field.
• Mary Jacobsen stuck her vault to post a team-best 9.875 on the vault, earning a second-place finish on the event.
• Sabrina Gill registered a 9.875 on the uneven bars to secure the event title.
• Madi Dagen tallied a 9.90 on the balance beam to earn the meet's top score.

LOADING UP FOR 2020
In November, three gymnasts signed the National Letters of Intent to join the Oregon State gymnastics program for the 2019-20 academic year. Kayla Bird (Chandler, Ariz.), Jenna Domingo (Honolulu, Hawai'i)Â and Jane Poniewaz (Henderson, Nev.) are scheduled to enroll at Oregon State this coming summer ... In addition, 2018 signee Jade Carey (Phoenix, Ariz.), who has deferred her enrollment this year to train for the U.S. National Team, plans to attend OSU in the future. Carey earned a pair of silver medals for Team USA at the 2017 World Championships.
