Beavers to Battle Devils at Beauty & the Beast Meet

• Oregon State is back on the road and returns to the state of Arizona for the second time in February to take on No. 20 Arizona State. The meet is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start (6 p.m. PST).
• The event will be a Beauty and the Beast meet with the ASU wrestling team simultaneously facing off with Cal Poly.
• Oregon State remains No. 12 in this week's rankings according to RoadToNationals.com. Rankings will switch to the National Qualifying Score (NQS) beginning next week.
• OSU enters Friday's meet with a 6-2 overall record and is 3-2 in Pac-12 competition.
• The Beavers are undefeated (3-0) on the road in 2019.
• The Sun Devils are 6-6 overall and 1-4 in conference.

REGIONALS IN CORVALLIS
• Oregon State will host the 2019 NCAA Regional Championships April 4-6.
• All-session tickets are available now for the three-day regional competition.
• All-session reserved passes are $42. Adult general admission is $27 and senior (62 and up)/youth (ages 3-18) general admission is $21.
• Single session tickets will go on sale at 9 a.m. each day of the regional competition for that day's session(s) only.
• Tickets can be secured by visiting BeaverTickets.com, by calling 1-800-GO-BEAVS and at the OSU Ticket Office.
QUICK STICKS
• All four of OSU's lineups are ranked among the top 25 in the nation. The floor lineup is the highest ranked for the Beavers at No. 5 (49.279, season average), beam is next at No. 10 (49.042), vault is at No. 14 (49.025) and bars ranks 22nd (48.908).
• Oregon State has 'hit' 136 out of 144 (94.4%) routines in 2019 ... in comparison, the Beavers 'hit' 274 out of 288 (95.1%) routines last year.
• The Beavers hit 24-for-24 for the first time this season last week against California.
• Through six meets, OSU's routine production breakdown looks like this: Juniors have performed 48 of 144 routines in 2019 (33.3%), seniors have produced 40 of 144 (26.8%), sophomore 37 of 144 (25.7%) and freshmen 19 of 144 (13.2%).
• OSU scored 197.450 against UCLA, tying the sixth-highest score in school history, a score that only six teams (Oklahoma, UCLA, Florida, LSU, Denver and Georgia) have topped this season.
• The Beavers registered a 49.600 on the floor exercise, missing the school-record by just .100, and besting the Bruins' top-ranked floor lineup.
• Oregon State opened the season on the road for the third straight season ... the Beavers now have a 5-0 record in those road season-openers.
• Ten of OSU's 15 regular season opponents on the 2019 schedule are ranked in this week's Top 36, including three among the top five.
• Oregon State hosts NCAA Regionals April 4-6. It is the first time OSU has hosted the regional round since 2013 ... this year's regional will be the first season with the new format that includes three days (four meets) of competition.
• Seventeen OSU gymnasts earned a 3.0 GPA or better during fall term - 11 of those were 3.5 or above including two 4.0s. The Beavers represent seven different colleges among their majors and two study in the Honors College.
• Senior McKenna Singley has recently been accepted to the University of Utah's S.J. Quinney College of Law.
• Madi Dagen earned Pac-12 honors for the first time in her career when she was named as the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week following the Beavers' win at Arizona, Feb. 8. She tied her career-high with a 9.875 on the vault and won the first event titles of her career on vault and beam (9.90).
LAST WEEK VS CALIFORNIA
• Oregon State, ranked No. 12, defeated then-No. 14 California in OSU's 14th annual DAM Cancer meet.
• Lacy Dagen tied for first on the beam, with Maela Lazaro, with a career-best 9.90 to earn the first event title of her career.
• Senior Mariana Colussi-Pelaez tied her season-best with a 9.875 on the bars to win her first event title of the season. Colussi-Pelaez also made her season-debut in the balance beam lineup scoring 9.800.
• Sophomore Kaitlyn Yanish showed off her new floor exercise routine to the home crowd for the first time earning a 9.950 to win the event.
• Senior Mary Jacobsen tied for the meet-high score on the vault with a 9.875.
SEEKING PERFECTION
OSU has 10 gymnasts that have 'hit' all of their routines in 2019 including: Kaitlyn Yanish (19-19), Mary Jacobsen (18-18), Madi Dagen (18-18), Isis Lowery (16-16), Sabrina Gill (6-6), Colette Yamaoka (5-5), Lexie Gonzales (3-3), Destinee Davis (2-2), Niya Mack (2-2) and Kristina Peterson (1-1).
THE SUN DEVILS
• Arizona State is ranked No. 20 this week ... the Devils were ranked as high as No. 13 during Week 2.
• The Sun Devils are 6-6 on the season and are coming off a third place finish at the Perfect 10 Challenge. ASU scored 195.650 to beat George Washington but fell short to Oklahoma and Washington.
• ASU is led by 2018 Pac-12 Freshman of the Year Cairo Leonard-Baker, who averages a 39.261 in the all-around this year and is tied for eighth in the nation on the uneven bars with an average score of 9.904.
GETTING BY
• Oregon State has gotten early this season despite missing several routines due to injury ... McKenna Singley missed the UCLA meet due to injury but has returned to her three events ... Destinee Davis, who finished 2018 in three lineups, made her 2019 debut against UCLA performing in the beam lineup and vaulted for the Beavers last week against California ... Sabrina Gill, who was an all-arounder six times in 2018, battled illness and injury early in the season performing a total of two routines through the first four meets, has returned to the bars and beam lineups ... Lena Greene, who was featured in the vault lineup last season made her debut on the bars against UCLA but was injured (finger) on the routine. She has returned to practice and is progressing toward the vault lineup ... Alyssa Minyard, who performed in the bars and beam lineups most of the season last year, will miss the 2019 season due to injury.
THE ROSTER
Here are some quick hitters about the 2019 Oregon State gymnastics roster:
• The Beavers have three seniors on the team (Mariana Colussi-Pelaez, Mary Jacobsen and McKenna Singley). The trio had combined to perform 224 routines in their career entering the season.
• There were four additions to the squad this fall with the arrivals of freshmen Leah Bivrell, Madi Dagen, Alex McClung and Kristina Peterson.
• Thirteen of the 21 gymnasts on the 2019 team competed in at least one meet for the Beavers last season
• Redshirt junior Lacy Dagen and sophomore Lexie Gonzales as well as freshmen Madi Dagen and Kristina Peterson made their Beaver debuts in the season opener at Illinois ... Sophomore Colette Yamaoka made her career debut against Utah.
• The Beavers have three gymnasts that hail from the state of Oregon - Lena Greene (Tigard), Jaime Law (Corvallis) and Alex McClung (Salem).
• OSU also has three gymnasts from outside the United State - Mariana Colussi-Pelaez and Sabrina Gill (Oakville, Ontario, Canada) and Isis Lowery (Melbourne, Australia).
• The Beavers return 22 out of 24 routines from the 2018 NCAA Regionals lineup. Both graduated routines by (Dani Dessaints and Shireen Khamedoost) were on the uneven bars.
LOADING UP FOR 2020
In November, three gymnasts signed the National Letters of Intent to join the Oregon State gymnastics program for the 2019-20 academic year. Kayla Bird (Chandler, Ariz.), Jenna Domingo (Honolulu, Hawai'i)Â and Jane Poniewaz (Henderson, Nev.) are scheduled to enroll at Oregon State this coming summer ... In addition, 2018 signee Jade Carey (Phoenix, Ariz.), who has deferred her enrollment this year to train for the U.S. National Team, plans to attend OSU in the future. Carey earned a pair of silver medals for Team USA at the 2017 World Championships.
