Kelley Leads Beavers To 80-58 Win Over Tigers

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Kylor Kelly scored a career-high 22 points and added seven blocked shots to lead Oregon State to an 80-58 win over Grambling State on Saturday afternoon at Gill Coliseum.
 
Alfred Hollins had 18 points, six rebounds and four assists, Tres Tinkle finished with 17 points, six rebounds, six assists and three steals, and Ethan Thompson added 13 points, eight rebounds and four assists to help the Beavers move to 5-1 on the season.
 
Kelley scored 12 first-half points and the Beavers led 44-30 at the break.
 
The Tigers (3-2) cut the lead to 52-42 early in the second half on Anthony Gaston's 3-pointer, but they would not get closer.
 
Tinkle's layup extended the lead to 73-54 and the Beavers were not threatened the rest of the way.
 
Ivy Smith Jr. led Grambling State of the Southwestern Athletic Conference with 17 points and Devante Jackson added 13.
 
Oregon State shot 46.4 percent from the field compared with 37.3 percent for the Tigers, and had a 42-29 advantage on the boards.
 
The Beavers will next travel to Vegas to play San Jose State on Wednesday at Orleans Arena in the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic. The game will tip at 8 p.m. PT and be televised nationally on FS1. Tickets can be purchased via the internet at www.orleansarena.com.
