Oregon State won the first meeting, 85-54, on Dec. 8, 2012 at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis when Roberto Nelson scored a game-high 26 points. Ahmad Starks added 17 points, Eric Moreland posted a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds, and Devon Collier added 10 points off the bench. Nelson and Starks knocked down five 3-pointers apiece. Terry Rose led Grambling State with 19 points.

The Beavers cruised to a 71-43 victory in Wayne Tinkle's first season on Dec. 15, 2014 at Gill Coliseum. Gary Payton II recorded the second triple-double in program history with 10 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Victor Robbins had a game-high 22 points and Malcom Duvivier added 16. Mark Gray led the Tigers with 14 points.
