The Game —
- Oregon State ends its September slate when traveling to Tempe, Ariz., to take on host Arizona State. Kickoff from Sun Devil Stadium is scheduled for 7:07 p.m. PT.
- The game is slated to air on the Pac-12 Networks.
- Every game this season can be heard live via the TuneIn application, which is available online and on smartphones and tablets. To find the game, once the app has been downloaded, search "Beaver Sports Network."
- The Beavers and Sun Devils are meeting for the second consecutive season. Saturday's game will be the 43rd all-time between the teams dating back to 1961, a 23-14 win by ASU.
- Arizona State leads the all-time series, 28-13-1, with 11 of ASU's wins coming consecutively from 1972-1992. The Beavers, meanwhile, won three straight from 2008-10 and are 6-4 in the last 10 meetings.
- The Sun Devils lead in Tempe with a 19-4 record. Oregon State's last win in Tempe came in 2009 - 28-17. Oregon State has played in Sun Devil Stadium just twice since, in 2011 and 2013.
- Oregon State linebackers coach Trent Bray served as a graduate assistant and linebackers coach at ASU from 2009-11.
- Michael Doctor, a recruiting assistant for the Beavers, picked off a pass for a touchdown in the team's 2014 meeting, a 35-27 win by Oregon State. That victory marked the Beavers' last versus a ranked opponent as the Sun Devils came to Reser Stadium as the nation's No. 7 team.
- Oregon State last played on Sept. 29 in 2012. The Beavers defeated Arizona in Tucson, 38-35.
Enyart's Record Breaker —
- Bill Enyart's record-breaking game against Utah in 1968 will celebrate its 50th anniversary this week. He did it on Sept. 28, 1968.
Enyart rushed for a school-record 299 yards on 50 carries versus Utah. He scored three touchdowns as the Beavers traveled to Salt Lake City and defeated the Utes, 24-21.
- Oregon State players have rushed for 200 or more yards just 12 times since his record-breaking day, including Jermar Jefferson, who tallied 238 against Southern Utah earlier this season.
- Nine of those 12 200-yard games have come this century; Steven Jackson has four such efforts, and Ken Simonton has two.
Â
Two Backs —
- There have been 16 games in Oregon State history with two or more Beaver running backs finished with 100 yards apiece.
- That's happened twice versus Arizona State.
- Don Shanklin (117 yards) and J.J. Young (105) did so in a 30-14 win in 1993. Oregon State finished with 419 rushing yards, good for the 10th-best single-game mark in school history.
- Then Terron Ward (148) and James Rodgers (128) accomplished the feat in 2014's 35-17 victory.
A True Freshmen "Quizz" —
- Running back Jermar Jefferson has posted two 100-yard plus rushing games already this season, which ranks third among all-time OSU greats for true-freshmen in a season.
- Jacquizz Rodgers had seven such games during the 2008 season and Seth Collins had a trio in 2015.Â
- At 118.2 yards per game, Jefferson is second in the Pac-12 and ranks 12th in the country. Jefferson is second nationally among true freshmen, trailing only Kansas' Pooka Williams, who is averaging 125.7 yards per game.
Trending Toward Second —
- Jermar Jefferson's current rushing average would put him at 1,419 yards for a season, which would place him with the sixth-best single-season total in school history.
- He is on pace for 18 touchdowns this season - he has six despite not scoring versus Arizona. That would place him fifth in a single-season at OSU.
Going For 1K —
- Timmy Hernandez has 816 receiving yards for his career, and is now 184 shy of becoming the 31st player in school history to reach 1,000.
- The Phoenix native, who will be playing in front of a good number of friends and family at ASU, scored his first touchdown of the season Saturday versus the Wildcats, and the fifth of his career.
Through The Air —
- Conor Blount connected on touchdown passes with Trevon Bradford and Timmy Hernandez versus Arizona, giving the Beavers seven through the air this year.
- Despite having played in just a third of the schedule, those seven touchdown passes are just four shy of the 2017 Beavers' 11 total.
- Blount has already tied Darell Garretson's team-leading six from all of last season.
Move Over Cooks & Hass —
- Isaiah Hodgins threatened the Oregon State single-game receiving record versus Nevada, tying Brandin Cooks (2013 versus San Diego State) and Mike Hass (2004 versus Arizona State) for the most in one game with 14.
- Hodgins also ended the night with 200 yards and two touchdowns. The 200 yards ranks as 10th-most in a single-game at Oregon State.
- Timmy Hernandez tallied 11 receptions for 116 yards against the Wolf Pack. The last time OSU saw two players with 11 or more catches came in 2008 versus Stanford, when Shane Morales caught 13 passes and Sammie Stroughter finished with 12.
- The duo, coupled with Jermar Jefferson's 106 rushing yards, gave the Beavers two players with 100 or more yards receiving and one rushing since 2012 when Brandin Cooks, Markus Wheaton and Terron Ward accomplished the feat versus Arizona State. All three have gone on to play in the NFL.
Rashed Into The Backfield —
- Hamilcar Rashed Jr. tallied 2.5 tackles for loss versus Arizona, giving him 4.5 on the year.
- His 4.5 TFLs would rank him in a tie for second when looking at the Beavers' 2017 defensive list. That would only trail Manase Hungalu, who had six over 12 games.
