OSU to Compete at Azusa Pacific, Long Beach

CORVALLIS, Ore. – After a break from competition last weekend the Oregon State track & field team is set to head to southern California this weekend for a trio of meets between Azusa Pacific and Long Beach State.
OSU's distance runners are set to compete at the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific on Thursday and Friday. Senior Kristiane Width will make her outdoor debut in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Width currently holds the third best time in school history in the event.
Juliana Mount and Collette Richter will make their outdoor debut in the 5,000 meters on Thursday and in the 1,500 meters on Friday. The Beavers have six athletes entered into the 1,500; Nicole Goecke, Holly Cavalluzzo, Kristiane Width, Juliana Mount, Rebecca Ledsham, Sara Christianson. Mount currently hosts the fourth-best time in OSU history in the event.
The sprinters, hurdlers, jumpers and throwers will compete at both the Pacific coast Intercollegiate and the Beach Invitational hosted by Long Beach State University.
Included in that group are throwers Lindsay McShane and Destiny Dawson who've each set school records this season. Dawson holds the OSU record in the javelin (163' 8"), while McShane owns the best mark in the hammer throw (180' 9").
The Beavers have set two school records and have combined for 10 all-time top-10 marks this outdoor season.
