OSU Drops Game Two at UCLA
March 25, 2018 | Softball
LOS ANGELES – McKenna Arriola went 2-for-4 on Sunday night but the No. 24 Oregon State University softball team dropped a 5-3 contest to No. 4/4 UCLA at Easton Stadium.
The Beavers fall behind 0-2 in the series with the Bruins, and 19-12 overall with a 2-3 mark in Pac-12 play.
UCLA improves to 27-2 overall and 3-2 in conference games.
Arriola got the evening started off in familiar fashion with her ninth double of the year for an RBI, her 15th of the season. Arriola brought Shelby Weeks home from second after Jessica Garcia advanced her with a sacrifice bunt.
UCLA tied things up in the bottom half of the first inning, and added two runs in the third and fifth innings pushing its lead to 5-1.
The Beavers had bases loaded in the sixth and seventh innings but managed just one run in both innings. Both runs came on bases loaded walks.
Up Next
The series with UCLA concludes tomorrow (Monday) with the first pitch slated for 1 p.m. at Easton Stadium.
