Beavers to Open Season at Lake Las Vegas Invite

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State men's rowing team is primed to return to Las Vegas this weekend for the second annual Lake Las Vegas Invitational. The Beavers will face Dartmouth and Santa Clara in dual races on Saturday, before racing against both squads in three-lane racing on Sunday.
The Beavers were part of the inaugural Lake Las Vegas Invitational last spring when they swept past crews from UC Santa Barbara.
Three Oregon State crews will make the trip to race on the 2,000-meter man-made course in the desert at the Lake Las Vegas Resort in Henderson, Nev.
"This is the first collegiate race of the season in the country and we're ready to get the season started," head coach Gabe Winkler said. "It's early, but it will be a good way to show what we've done through our winter training. I'm excited to let it ride in Vegas with this team."
RACE TIMES: Saturday, the Varsity 8 will get racing the season started for the Beavers against Santa Clara at 9:15 a.m.
