Trevor Larnach hit his fourth home run of the season and Bryce Fehmel scattered five hits and two runs in 6 2/3 innings to send the Beavers to a 10-3 win over Nebraska Saturday. Larnach hit a two-run shot in the first, while Steven Kwan, Kyle Nobach, Michael Gretler and Jack Anderson all tallied two hits. Fehmel struck out three for the victory.
Versus Ohio State Friday
Oregon State overcame a two-run deficit via a six-run eighth inning to post a 10-8 win over Ohio State on Friday. All six runs in the eighth were unearned, and five came with two outs. Kevin Abel earned the win with 4 1/3 innings of relief, posting 10 strikeouts.
Larnach Deep Again
Trevor Larnach entered the 2018 season with three home runs, belting all of them as a sophomore in 2017. His home run Saturday marked his fourth of the year in just seven games. He now has seven long balls for his career.
And It Finally Happened
Larnach's home run in the first Saturday marked the first of the season for the Beavers to come with an out. The previous six all came with no outs on the scoreboard.
Impressive Company
Bryce Fehmel's win Saturday marked his second of the season and 18th of his career. The junior is 18-4, a .818 winning percentage that now ranks him fifth in the Oregon State record books. He surpassed Matt Boyd, who was 22-5 (.815) from 2010-13.Â
