Beavers Remain On the Road In the Mountains

Beavers Headed for the Mountain Schools
• OSU concludes it's five-week, 11-match barnstorming tour this weekend in the second week of the Pac-12 Conference season.
• The Beavers take on Colorado in Boulder on Friday. The match begins at 7 p.m. PT.
• Oregon State then travels to Salt Lake City to face No. 15 Utah. That match is also slated for a 7 p.m. PT first serve.

Against Colorado & Utah
• Oregon State trails the all-time series with Colorado 5-4. The Beavers beat the Buffs the last time the teams met in a five-set match.
• OSU leads the series with Utah 10-9 but has dropped the last three meetings.
By the Numbers
• OSU currently ranks 16th in the nation and fifth in the Pac-12 in hitting percentage at .278.
• In addition, the Beavers are ranked 39th in the country and seventh in conference in kills per set at 13.89.
• Mary-Kate Marshall is third in the Pac-12 and 11th in the nation with 5.27 points per set.
• Marshall also ranks third in the conference and 13th in the country with 4.65 kills per set.
Aces
• Mary-Kate Marshall recorded 23 kills last week and now has 1,604 in her career. She ranks third in OSU history. Next on the list is Shelly Smith, who had 1,763 kills from 1991-94.
• Marshall also ranks fifth in kills among active players in Division I.
• Kayla Ellis registered 26 digs last week and now has 980 digs in her career. Last week she past Allison Lawrence (2001-04) on OSU's career list and now sits at 14th ... she is on the cusp of becoming hte 14th player in school history to reach the 1,000-dig mark.
• Kylee McLaughlin is the only player in the Pac-12 Conference, and one of 17 in the nation, to record a triple-double in 2017 (49 assists, 11 digs, 10 blocks)
• Of the 13 players on the roster to have played in 2017, five are first-year players - true freshmen Maddie Goings, Grace Massey and Kylee McLaughlin; redshirt freshman Haylie Bennett; and transfer Shekinah Clarke.
• Marshall was named as the MVP of each of OSU's first two tournaments of the year and was selected to the all-tournament team in Texas. Bennett joined her on the first two all-tournament teams as well. McLaughlin was an all-tourney pick at Portland and Maddie Goings earned all-tourney honors in Texas and at Boise.
