TELA'S BEEN TREMENDOUS
Taray Tela's debut season in orange and black has seen the Provo, Utah, native play a key role all year. Playing in 53 of a possible 57 sets, she is hitting a team-leading .365 that ranks second highest in the Pac-12, amassing 107 kills and adding 41.0 blocks. Across two matches last weekend, she contributed 15 kills (2.14/set) on a .345 clip and has now hit .300 or better in eight matches this season.
Â
DOUBLE-DIGITS... AGAIN
AC Froehlich reached double digit kills for the 11th and 12th times this season last weekend, tallying 14 at San Diego State and 12 more at Colorado State, increasing her season total up to 220, which leads the team and ranks third in the Pac-12. She had a career-high 27 kills in a Sept. 27 match against Washington State and is averaging 4.14 per set across five matches against Pac-12 opponents.
Â
IMPROVING OFFENSE
Alana Marrs hit .281 on her way to 2.00 kills per set across 11 matches and 35 sets played during nonconference action. Across four matches and 17 sets played against Pac-12 opponents, the Ellensburg, Wash., native is hitting .388 with 2.35 kills per set and enters Wednesday's match with 110 kills and a team-leading 58 blocks this season.
Â
WHAT SHE DOES
Jackie Matias put up another strong showing at Colorado State over the weekend, recording her fifth double-double of the season thanks to 14 digs and 38 assists, adding two blocks, two kills and an ace. Across 16 matches played in 2026, Matias leads the Pac-12 with 10.14 assists per set, 578 in total, and Saturday's performance was also her ninth with 30 or more assists in a single match this season.
Â
SOPHOMORE BREAKOUT
Cheyenne Green finished her freshman season with 40 kills and 26 blocks across 49 sets played. As a sophomore in 2026, she's already up to 55 sets played, amassing 109 kills and 14 blocks, while her per-set kill average of 1.98 is more than double that of her freshman average. When facing Colorado State last weekend, Green hit .333 on her way to nine more kills, her seventh match of the year with at least nine, and she enters this week's match ranking fourth on the team for total kills, ranking behind Marrs (110) and ahead of Tela (107).
Â
MISCELLANEOUS NOTES
- Beatrice Spada had one of her best performances of the season at San Diego State on Thursday, hitting .364 on her way to six kills and one block. Originally from Verona, Italy, her six kills tied a season high mark, while the efficient hitting was her fourth time at .350 or higher in a single match.
Â
- The Beaver attack came out rolling against Colorado State, hitting north of .300 to an extra points victory. Both teams held leads throughout and rattled off multiple runs, the Rams even holding set point at 24-22, but OSU leveled the match at 24 apiece on a Marrs block and won it on a Matias service ace, 26-24.
Â
- There are 10 Oregon State student-athletes to appear in at least 50% of the team's 57 sets played this season. Froehlich, Matias, Isabel Bertelsen and Yasemin Narlioglu lead the way, having appeared in all 57, with Green (55), Tela (53), Marrs (52), Kama Goldstein (51) and Taylor Treahy (50) not far behind; Spada rounds out that group with 45 sets played.
Â
