Beavers Honored For Academics By ABCA

OSU is the lone team from the Pac-12 recognized on Thursday
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State is one of just 36 NCAA Division-I teams honored with the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)'s Team Academic Excellence Award, it was announced Thursday.
The Beavers are honored for the second consecutive season, and in 2017, are the lone team from the Pac-12 Conference to be on the list. OSU is one of three teams from the West Coast – joining Sacramento State and Portland.
Additionally, OSU and Louisville are the only two teams recognized Thursday that also advanced to the College World Series.
To be recognized, teams must have finished the 2016-17 academic year with at least a 3.0 grade point average. The Beavers finished with a combined 3.19 GPA over the Fall, Winter and Spring terms.
Oregon State saw a school-record 16 players earn Pac-12 All-Academic honors, with Jack Anderson, Max Engelbrekt and Jake Thompson being named First Team. Engelbrekt was later recognized as the Pac-12's Scholar-Athlete of the Year in baseball and Thompson became the sixth Academic All-American in school history.
