Hallock takes second at Arizona heptathlon

Senior Kara Hallock improved her personal best by 282 points and took second place on Friday at the Jim Click heptathlon at the University of Arizona.
Hallock scored 5,379 points in the seven-event competition, easily surpassing her old PR of 5,087 points, set at Eugene in 2015. She still ranks No. 3 all-time at OSU in the heptathlon.
Saskia McNairy placed 12th with 4,708 points, improving her No. 5 all-time mark by 438 points. Her old PR was 4,270, at UC Riverside in 2015.
Hallock went 18-2.25 and scored 715 points in the long jump. She threw the javelin 129-11.25 and scored 660 points; that throw ranks No. 7 on OSU's all-time list. She then ran 2:22.34 in the 800 for 792 points.
McNairy went 16-11.75 in the long jump for 609 points; threw the javelin 122-9 for 618 points, and ran 2:27.31 in the 800 for 727 points.
Remaining team members competed at the Sun Angel Classic at Arizona State and at the John Knight Twilight Meet at Western Oregon.
The Beavers had three more all-time top-10 times or marks at WOU and ASU on Friday, giving them six for the day. They have set one current school record and have posted 22 all-time top-10 times or marks this season.
