Palmer earns Robin Reed, Bill Brickey Awards

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Senior 133-pounder Joey Palmer earned the Robin Reed Award as Oregon State's outstanding wrestler and the Bill Brickey Award as the most dedicated wrestler for the 2017 season on Saturday at the annual team banquet.
The Covington, Wash., native went 29-7 this past season and captured the Pacific-12 Conference championship in his weight class. He went 3-2 at the NCAA Championships, falling one win short of All-American status.
Palmer also earned second-team Pac-12 All-Academic honors after compiling a 3.19 cumulative GPA in Human Development/Family Science and education. He was Honorable-Mention All-Academic is 2016.
Redshirt junior heavyweight Cody Crawford earned the Joe Wells Award, for team impact. He was 24-9, took second at the Pac-12 Championships and advanced to NCAAs for the second time in his career.
Redshirt junior 141-pounder Jack Hathaway claimed the Chad Flack Award, given to the most improved wrestler. Hathaway was 19-13, placed second at the Pac-12 Championships and advanced to NCAAs for the second time in his career.
Hathaway also earned the Len Kauffman/Larry Bielenberg Award for the most pins. He had nine falls in varsity competition, including two at the NCAA Championships.
Senior 149-pounder Joey Delgado claimed the Dale Thomas Award, an all-around honor based on hustle, wins, GPA, and other factors. He took third at Pac-12s and finished with a 19-12 mark after going 1-2 in his third appearance at the NCAA Championships.
Freshman 174/184-pounder Bob Coleman earned the Hardest Worker Award. He was 6-21 as a true freshman.
Also honored were team bus driver Brad Luscombe (Coaches Appreciation Award); Dennis Fuller (Booster of the Year), and Ken and Andrea Tobin, named The FALL's Volunteers of the Year.
