Wiese Headed to ESPN 3-Point Contest

Event will take place Thursday at 7 p.m. on ESPN
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Senior Sydney Wiese has been selected to compete in the prestigious ESPN College Three-Point Contest, which will be held Thursday in Phoenix, Ariz., the host city for the men's basketball Final Four. The event, which also features a slam-dunk contest, will air live on ESPN at 7 p.m.
Wiese is one of 14 players in conference history to make the All-Pac-12 Coaches Team four times. The senior, who was named an AP All-American on Monday, is the Pac-12's career record holder for 3-pointers. She sits tied for 12th in NCAA history in career longballs, and has the three best single-season 3-point totals in Oregon State history.
???????Wiese finished her career fifth in Oregon State history in points, and holds the school record for career assists. Wiese led the Beavers with 15.2 points per game, as is among the top 16 in the nation in 3-point percentage.
A speech communication major, Wiese is a Senior CLASS Award Finalist, Pac-12 Scholar Athlete of the Year and an Academic All-America selection. The senior has launched her own web series in conjunction with Oregon State gymnast Megan Jimenez, and hopes to go into broadcasting at the conclusion of her playing career. She has also worked extensively in the community, donating her hair in a special Haircuts for Cancer ceremony last week, and participating in a Candlelighters for Cancer fishing trip over the summer.
As a team, Oregon State finished the season 31-5, posting the second-highest win total in program history. The Beavers' senior class tallied 114 wins over the course of their four years, a school record.
