Rakocevik Scores Career-High 16 At Stanford

STANFORD, Calif.  – Oregon State sophomore center Gligorije Rakocevic scored a career-high 16 points on Wednesday in a 79-66 loss to Stanford at Maples Pavilion.
Rakocevic tied his previous career high of 12 points, against Nevada on Nov. 18 and Arizona on Feb. 2, in the first half, when the Cardinal established a 43-33 lead. He scored four more in the second in the fourth double-figure game of the season and his career.
He was 7 of 10 from the field and grabbed three rebounds. He has scored 71 points in his last eight games after compiling just 51 in OSU's first 21 games.
Sophomore forward Drew Eubanks had a huge second half and finished with 21 points and 14 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the season and the eighth of his career. He had just four points and four rebounds at halftime. Eubanks also had a team-high three assists and hit 11 of 12 free throws.
The Beavers (5-24, 1-15 Pac-12) used an 11-2 run to cut what had been a 25-point deficit (69-44) down to 12 (72-60) and had a chance to pull within nine with 3:53 remaining. Â However, they missed a 3-pointer and Stanford score on the ensuing possession to restore a 14-point advantage.
The Cardinal (14-13, 6-9) kept OSU at arm's length the rest of the way and completed a sweep of the season series. Stanford won 62-46 in Corvallis on Jan. 19.
The Beavers conclude their final regular-season road trip on Friday with a 7 p.m. game against California at Haas Pavilion in Berkeley. It will be televised by FS1.
OSU concludes the regular season on March 4 against Oregon at Gill Coliseum. The 348th meeting between the teams will be men's basketball Civil War will Saturday's game was part of the Civil War Series, sponsored by PacificSource Health Plans, Spirit Mountain Casino, Safeway/Albertsons and Your Local Toyota Dealers.
