
Engelbrekt Named To Stopper Watch List

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Oregon State senior left-handed pitcher Max Engelbrekt has been named to the preseason watch list for the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Stopper of the Year award, it was announced Monday.

Engelbrekt had 11 saves for the Beavers last season. He was 3-3 with a 2.92 earned run average in 25 appearances out of the bullpen last season.

For his career, he is 8-5 with a 2.33 ERA and 17 saves in 64 games.

A native of Seattle, Engelbrekt was named a Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team member as a junior in 2016. He has already earned a degree in finance and is pursuing a Master of Business Administration.

Oregon State opens the 2017 season Friday in Surprise, Ariz., when taking on Duke to start the Sanderson Ford College Baseball Classic. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m. PT (1 p.m. in Arizona).

Season tickets for the 2017 are still available – ensure you don't miss a pitch at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field's 30 home games this season. Single-game tickets will be made available to the general public on Feb. 20.
