CORVALLIS, Ore. – Runners on the corners, two outs and an 0-1 count against Washington reliever Troy Rallings in a tie game in the eighth inning at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field.

What would Jack Anderson do?

Anderson struck an 0-1 fastball from Rallings back up the middle, scoring KJ Harrison from third to clinch a come-from-behind 5-4 victory over Washington in front of 3,319 fans at Goss Stadium. The win sent sixth-ranked Oregon State to a series victory over the Huskies with the finale set for 4:05 p.m. on Sunday.

Max Engelbrekt came on in the ninth, and got Josh Cushing to strike out with two runners on scoring position to clinch the win. The save was his 10^th of the season.

Anderson's single punctuated an Oregon State comeback that started in the seventh. Kyle Nobach drove in the Beavers' first two runs of the game on a double to right center. He then scored on back-to-back wild pitches by reliever Spencer Jones.

Trever Morrison opened the eighth with a single to left off Rallings, then moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Nick Madrigal. Harrison came to the plate and hit into a shift, driving a 1-1 pitch right where the shortstop would normally play to score Harrison and tie the game at four.

Anderson and Nobach both finished with two hits for the Beavers (19-6 overall, 5-3 Pac-12 Conference), who recorded 10 on the day – seven of which came in the game's final two innings.

Mitch Hickey earned his first win of the season after a scoreless inning in relief of Scotland Church in the eighth. The 'pen, consisting of Church, Hickey and Engelbrekt, held the Huskies scoreless while allowing three hits and two walks with four strikeouts in four innings.

Jake Thompson started for the Beavers, and worked five innings. He allowed five hits and four runs with four strikeouts. His counterpart, Joe DeMers, allowed five hits and two runs in 6 1/3 innings.

Rallings took the loss to drop to 1-1. His two runs allowed in the eighth snapped a 32-innings scoreless streak for the Washington (13-10, 4-4) senior.
