Beavers Through 18 Holes At Bandon Dunes

BANDON, Ore. -- The Oregon State men's golf team is in 11th place after Sunday's opening round of competition at the Bandon Dunes Championship.
The Beavers shot a 24-over 308 at the par-71, 6,682-yard Bandon Trails Course and has 36 holes to move up the leaderboard at the three-day, 54-hole tournament.
Missouri and Clemson share the lead in the 12-team field after posting a 6-over 290 in the opening round. Only three players finished in red figures, all with a 2-under 69, and they are Hayden Buckley of Missouri, Joe Harvie of Seattle University and Bryson Nimmer of Clemson.
Junior Kevin Murphy and freshman Trevor Yu led the Beavers as each carded a 5-over 76 to put them in a tie for 23rd place. Junior Calum Hill shot a 6-over 77, sophomore Jonas Liebich had an 8-over 79 and senior Tyler Carlson finished with a 9-over 80.
Oregon State has two players competing as individuals. Junior Conner Kumpula is tied for 18th place after firing 4-over 75 and senior Chris Tedesco shot a 12-over 83.
The second round will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Monday and live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
