SEATTLE – Logan Ice hit a three-run home run but Oregon State was unable to hold on to a five-run lead in an 8-6 loss to Washington Friday night at Husky Ballpark.

Ice's round-tripper, his second of the year, put the Beavers up 5-0 in the first inning. But the Huskies edged back to score eight of the game's nine runs for the victory.

Austin Rei hit a two-run home run in the first inning and a three-run home run in the fifth to make it 6-5 in favor of the Beavers (28-14 overall, 11-9 Pac-12 Conference). The Huskies (24-20, 9-14) added two more runs in the inning to take the lead, then added a solo run in the sixth for insurance.

Tyler Davis, who was touched for the five-run first, ended the game having thrown 140 pitches over 7 1/3 innings. He earned the win to improve to 6-5 after allowing eight hits and six runs.

Drew Rasmussen started for the Beavers and allowed nine hits and six runs in 4 1/3 innings. He did not, however, figure in the decision. The loss went to reliever Sam Tweedt, who was charged with a run allowed on two hits in the fifth. He dropped to 6-1 on the year.

Jeff Hendrix doubled twice to pace the Beavers, who recorded eight hits off three Washington pitchers.

OSU and Washington finish the series Saturday in a 7:35 p.m. PT first pitch at Husky Ballpark. The game will air live on the Pac-12 Networks and Beaver Sports Radio Network. Live stats and audio available via osubeavers.com.
