CORVALLIS, Ore. – The 22^nd-ranked Oregon State baseball team played 15 innings against Utah Sunday afternoon at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field, but the game ended in a 2-2 tie due to the Utes' travel schedule.

Scotland Church pitched 4 1/3 scoreless innings for the Beavers, striking out three while allowing two walks and two hits. He would have been the pitcher of record if the game had ended with a decision.

Brock Duke tossed 8 1/3 scoreless innings against the Beavers in a relief outing for Utah. He allowed six hits but the Beavers were unable to get the winning run across against the right-hander.

OSU went the last 10 innings without scoring a run. Caleb Hamilton drove in the game's first run in the fifth on a triple, then scored when Michael Gretler hit a sacrifice fly.

The game stayed 2-0 in favor of the Beavers until the eighth when Josh Rose hit a two-run home run, accounting for Utah's offensive output on the day. The home run came off Oregon State starter, Travis Eckert, who worked 8 2/3 innings. He scattered four hits and two runs.

His counterpart, Jayson Rose, allowed two hits and two unearned runs in 6 2/3 innings.

Hamilton paced the Beavers offensively, collecting a career-high four hits. OSU tallied eight overall.

The tie game is the first for Oregon State since the 1998 season.

The Beavers now meet up with Portland Wednesday in Keizer, Ore., at Volcanoes Stadium. The game, scheduled for a 6:05 p.m. PT first pitch, is the makeup game from the April 14 rainout.
