
Beavers Sixth at Head of the Lake

SEATTLE, Wash. – The Oregon State women's rowing team rowed to a sixth place finish at the Head of the Lake in Seattle Sunday morning.
The Beavers' Varsity 8 covered the three-mile course in a time of 18-minutes, 51.694-seconds just over one second behind Pac-12 rival Stanford (18:50.292), pulling in behind Washington's A and B crews, the University of British Columbia, Gonzaga and Stanford.
In the Junior Varsity 8 category, the Beavers once again finished sixth with a similar order of finish through the first six places. OSU's second boat recorded a time of 19:31.461
“Today's results were disappointing,” head coach Emily Ford said. “The most frustrating part was that we didn't put our best foot forward on race day. We've seen much better in practice.”
“However we got a lot of information about what needs to happen from here and this will be very helpful for us as we go into winter training.”
Oregon State returns to the water again at the Orange & Black Regatta in Corvallis, next Saturday, Nov. 14.
