WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Michael Conforto homered and drove in three runs to pace the fifth-ranked Oregon State baseball team but the Beavers dropped a 7-6 decision to Sacramento State Monday night at Raley Field.

Conforto went 4-for-4 and helped the Beavers (27-8 overall) to a 6-1 lead after two innings. But the Hornets scored two in the fourth, one in the sixth, two more in the seventh and a solo run in the eighth for the come-from-behind victory. Scotty Burcham drove in the game-winning run with a single to left in the eighth.

The game-winning hit came off OSU reliever Andrew Moore, who allowed two hits and a run in 2/3 of an inning. He dropped to 3-3 on the year.

Jace Fry started for the Beavers and tallied four innings of work. He scattered nine hits and three runs before Philip Belding came on in relief in the fifth inning.

The Beavers knocked around Sacramento State (25-15) starter Justin Dillon, who was touched for six runs and four hits in two innings. The righty, however, did not figure in the decision after the Hornets' comeback.
