
Women's Hoops Falls at California

Berkeley, Calif. – Freshman Ali Gibson (Woodbridge, Calif.) scored a game-high 16 points, but the Oregon State women's basketball team (10-4, 1-2 Pac-12) fell to California (10-5, 1-2 Pac-12), 73-56, on Thursday evening in Haas Pavilion.
Junior Patricia Bright (Phoenix, Ariz.) blocked a game-high seven shots in addition to her eight points, while senior Earlysia Marchbanks (Salem, Ore.) pulled down a Beaver-best nine rebounds with 12 points. Junior ShaKiana Edwards-Teasley (Lapwai, Idaho) had an eight rebound effort coming off the bench.
California capitalized on Oregon State's 15 turnovers, counting 26 points off of them, while also scoring 20 of its points on second chance opportunities. The Golden Bears outrebounded the Beavers 49-39 with 22 total offensive boards to Oregon State's 13.
The Beavers shot 34.5 percent from the field, sinking a near season-high 75.0 percent from the charity stripe (12-16). Oregon State scored 30 of its points in the paint.
California's Reshanda Gray led the Golden Bears with 15 points, while Talia Caldwell had nine rebounds.
Oregon State completes its trip in the Bay Area at No. 4 Stanford on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
