Oregon State Post-Game Notes
The Beavers won their first NCAA Regional since 2007. They will appear in their first ever NCAA Super Regional on the road when it is expected that the NCAA Committee will send the Beavers to play at Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tenn.
Oregon State improved to 38-22 (.633) all-time in the postseason and 21-15 (.583) in NCAA Regional games.
Oregon State is 18-3 (.857) all-time at home during the postseason and has won 11 consecutive postseason games at Goss Stadium dating back to the 2005 season.
Oregon State's victory was the team's 41st of the season and 23rd at home.
Oregon State improved to 11-7 all-time against teams from the Southeastern Conference, including a 7-1 mark against Georgia. Vanderbilt, OSU's opponent in the Super Regional, defeated the Beavers, 8-1, in the 2008 season opener in Tempe, Ariz., in the lone meeting between the teams. Current Atlanta pitcher Mike Minor was the winning pitcher in that game while current Philadelphia reliever Mike Stutes was the losing pitcher.
Parker Berberet's second-inning home run was the seventh of his career and first in the postseason. He finished with his 10th multi-hit game of the season, making him the eighth Beaver to reach that plateau this season. He has 24 multi-hit games for his career.
Scott Schultz tied a season-high with five innings of work, matching a five-inning outing against Arizona State on April 9. He set a season-high with 20 batters faced, surpassing his previous high of 19 also achieved April 9 against the Sun Devils.
Adam Duke's victory marked the Oregon State bullpen's 18th of the season. It was Duke's first career win in his fifth career appearance.
Tony Bryant's save was his 12th of the season, tying him with Eddie Kunz (2007) and Kevin Rhoderick (2008) for third-most in a single-season at Oregon State.
The game faced a 21-minute delay in the bottom of the ninth after a bank of lights on the first base side of home plate went dark.
